A cool crip air engulfs us, the smells of pumpkin spice and cinnamon surrounds us, and the sight of beautiful earth tones and bright oranges & reds is all we see. Fall is here! We took our annual trip to the apple orchard {okay, okay, you caught me, we have already visited the orchards FOUR times in the past month!}. Is that a problem?

Between playing in the corn pit, my husband trying to navigate us through the corn maze, pony rides, petting zoos, and apple picking, all I can really think about is
LET’S GET HOME SO I CAN START MAKING SOMETHING WITH THESE YUMMY APPLES.
I’m not alone in this, am I?

We had a LOT on our recipe list for this year…
Apple cider donuts, apple cinnamon muffins, homemade apple crisp, apple pie, caramel apple cider….
The list could go on, as these are only the recipes that I’ve actually printed off and are anxiously awaiting their conception on my kitchen counter.

Ya have to start somewhere, and what better place than homemade Apple Crisp. It just SOUNDS delicious!! This year, I decided to try a new Apple Crisp recipe, one I found from a fellow blogger at Tastes Better From Scratch. It is perfectly sized to serve 6 people, which I thought would be wonderful for my family of five…. Right up until the moment I realized I NEEDED 4 pieces just for ME. Seriously, HOLY YUM! She even has directions on how to make it in advance so you’re not scrambling to get hot apple crisp on the table for guests AND she includes a recipe for homemade caramel sauce to drizzle on top.

Seriously, head to the site and print this recipe FAST! You won’t be disappointed you did.
